Let’s say that we did an experiment where we took all of the money in the world, and equally distributed to everyone on this Earth.

It would be only a matter of time before that money would go back to the same people.

This is also one of the main reasons why people that win the lottery often go back to being poor.

It is also the same reason why your friend that loves toxic relationships will end up with a good person, and completely it ruin it for themselves.

Yes, this is someone shooting themselves in the foot

The short answer is that a limiting mindset won’t allow you to become the person that is worthy of receiving the thing that you want.

People are rich before they have wealth.

People are happy before they find their significant other.

“Your inner world is the starting point, not the response. You don’t smile because the world is kind. You smile and the world often returns the gesture. So to with abundance, love, and freedom.”

-Alan Watts

It’s a weird paradox because you shouldn’t be able to be something until you become it but you need to feel it before you get it.

This is something that my coach has been helping me work through.

These are a couple of limiting mindsets that I have about money:

  • People will take advantage of me if I have money
  • If I make a lot of money then someone else losing
  • Money will isolate me from people that do not have the same amount
  • And more because I grew up in a first generation family with a scarcity mindset

It sounds ridiculous, but it was so deeply ingrained with my programming.

So, how does this come into fruition?

“Until you make the subconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”

-Carl Jung

Your subconscious is a big part of your software.

Your software is a big part of how you see the world.

If you have limiting beliefs then you cannot see a reality where the opposite of your limiting beliefs are possible.

There might be a ton of abundance and possibilities in your life right now if someone with a better mindset was living your life…but you won’t be able to see it since your beliefs shape your perceptions.

If you have a negative relationship with a particular thing then you’ll avoid situations where you can get that thing.

I’m working through my limiting beliefs with money so I can become some worthy of having it, and I don’t want to feel evil for feeling that way.

Money is a vehicle for me to have freedom, to create better things, to support my family, to buy Oliver more toys, to support my friends, to support my team, to give back to those less fortunate than myself, and to spread some positivity in this world.

This isn’t the only thing I’m working on…

I also have limiting beliefs, and negative perceptions about power.

I consider it a bad thing but it’s because I’ve seen so many examples of it where it was utilized for bad.

That’s not who I am…

But, the voice in my head says otherwise.

If I associate being powerful as a bad thing then…

I’ll never want to be powerful even if I am!

People that are positions of power are not always bad, but they have a lot of opportunities that come their way.

I wouldn’t mind that, so that’s why I’m working on it.

This was a highlight of my coaching session today, and I hope you get some value from reading this post.

The goal of the writing is to solidify the lessons I’m learning.

The secondary goal is to provide these insights for people that may not have the same resources that I have access to.

What do you want in your life?

Do you have any limiting beliefs, and negative associations with the thing that you want in your life?

How can you start becoming a person worthy of receiving those things?

Let’s grow.
